Vacation Bible Camp: "Wonderful in His Saints!" 2020
Time & Location
About the event
The dates for this year’s camp are July 27 to 31. The hours for the camp are 9:30 A.M. to 2:30 P.M.
The theme for this year’s camp is “Wonderful In HIs Saints." Campers will become familiar with the lives of many saints, young and old, men and women, children, special friends of God. Through liturgical prayer, arts, Bible readings, and even in play, we will learn about the saints and how we ourselves can be saints.
The camp is open to children of the ages of 7 to 14 and to Catholics of all rites, Orthodox, and anyone interested in learning about Christianity as expressed in the Byzantine tradition. There are three basic learning sessions each day, each with a different teacher: one focusing on the Bible and Saints, one for learning holy chant, one for liturgical art (primarily iconography). There are two prayers sessions: Morning Prayers and Vespers (the evening prayer). On Friday, July 31, we will also have Divine Liturgy (with all taking part) and will visit a local park for lunch and fun.
Campers will bring lunch from home each day, but refreshments and light snacks will be provided by the camp.
Our program is in conformity with the safe environment standards set by the Byzantine Catholic Eparchy of the Holy Protection of Mary of Phoenix.
The fee for one camper is $90; there are discounts for additional students from the same family. Financial assistance may also be available. Students will bring lunch from home but refreshments and light snacks will be provided by the camp.
The registration period will begin mid-April. If you would like more information or to request an application form, please call Father Anthony at (408) 871-0919 or e-mail him at email@example.com. If you would like to make a donation to help support this and future camps, please contact Fr. Anthony.
